BEJUNDAS FINANCIAL SERVICES LTD

This Privacy Policy explains how BEJUNDAS FINANCIAL SERVICES LTD ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you apply for a loan, guarantee a loan, or otherwise use our services.

Effective date: 13 August 2026

1. Who we are

BEJUNDAS FINANCIAL SERVICES LTD is a licensed lending business operating at MBEZI MSAKUZI, DAR. We are the data controller responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at bevimas@gmail.com or 0785778833.

2. Information we collect

To assess, issue and administer a loan we collect:

  • Identity and KYC information - your full name, date of birth, gender, national identification or passport number, photograph and a copy of your identification document.
  • Contact information - postal and physical address, telephone number and email address.
  • Employment and business information - your occupation, employer or business name, business location, and how long you have held it.
  • Financial information - income, bank statements, existing obligations, loan repayment history and transaction records with us.
  • Collateral information - descriptions, valuations, ownership documents and photographs of any security you offer.
  • Guarantor and referee information - the details of people who guarantee or vouch for your loan (see section 6).
  • Technical information - IP address, browser type and login activity when you use our online portal.

3. How we collect it

Most information comes directly from you, on an application form or through our customer portal. We also receive information from credit reference bureaus, your employer or referees where you have authorised us to verify what you have told us, and from publicly available registers.

4. Why we use it, and our lawful basis

PurposeLawful basis

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

  • Credit reference bureaus - we report your loan and its repayment performance, including missed payments. This affects your ability to borrow elsewhere.
  • Regulators and public authorities - including the Bank of Tanzania, tax authorities and the courts, where the law requires it.
  • Your guarantors - we may tell a guarantor that your loan is in arrears, because their obligation depends on it.
  • Debt collection agents and legal advisers - where an account is in default.
  • Service providers - the SMS and email gateways that deliver our messages, payment providers, and our IT hosting provider. They act on our instructions and may not use your information for their own purposes.

6. If you are a guarantor, referee or next of kin

Where a borrower has given us your details, we hold your name, contact details and relationship to the borrower so that we can contact you about the loan you have guaranteed or been named on. We tell you this because you did not give us that information yourself. You have the same rights over it as described in section 9.

7. How long we keep it

We keep your information for the life of your loan and for 7 years after it is closed or your application is declined. That period is set by anti-money-laundering and financial record-keeping law, and we cannot delete records before it expires even at your request. After it expires we delete or anonymise the records.

8. How we protect it

Access to your information is restricted to staff who need it for their role and is controlled by individual user accounts and permissions. Credentials and sensitive configuration are encrypted at rest, access is logged, and we take regular backups. No system is perfectly secure, but we take these measures seriously and will notify you and the relevant authority if a breach puts you at risk.

9. Your rights

Subject to the retention obligations in section 7, you may:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete information we no longer have a reason to keep;
  • object to, or ask us to restrict, a particular use;
  • withdraw consent to marketing at any time; and
  • complain to the Personal Data Protection Commission if you believe we have mishandled your information.

To exercise any of these, write to bevimas@gmail.com. We will respond within the period the law allows.

10. Automated decisions

Loan decisions are reviewed by a member of our staff. Where our system scores an application automatically to support that review, you may ask for the decision to be explained and reconsidered by a person.

11. Cookies

Our portal uses a session cookie to keep you signed in. It is required for the site to work and is deleted when you sign out or close your browser. We do not use advertising cookies.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Every version we publish is kept and remains readable, and the effective date at the top tells you which version applies. Where a change materially affects your rights, we will ask you to review and accept the new version the next time you sign in.
